The UHF connector was designed during the 1930's as a general purpose

connector for use in low frquency applications (DC - 300MHz).

The term UHF means 'Ultra high frequency' which was correct at the time

as 300Mhz was considered to be high frequency.

The UHF connector features a rugged threaded coupling, but due to the low cost design

the impedance is variable.

Applications include Antennas, CB radios, Public Address systems.
